Julie Turner, CTABRSM – Founder and Principal of Julie Turner Vocal Studios
With over 20 years of performance and teaching experience, is a highly accomplished vocal
coach. She studied at the Royal College of Music in London, where she also completed her
teaching certificate. Julie is currently working towards a Master’s Degree (MA) in Vocal
Pedagogy.
In 2016, Julie embraced a new professional challenge by training in the Estill Voice system,
an internationally recognised approach that develops vocal versatility and expressive freedom
without compromising vocal health. This marked a major milestone in her teaching practice.
Alongside Estill, Julie also integrates a range of other complementary methodologies.
As part of her work with NDC College, Julie provides students with comprehensive training
to meet the standards required for vocational college entry. Her teaching covers ensemble work, vocal physiology, vocal health, sight singing (sheet music), audition preparation, and one-to- one lessons for second-year audition students. She trains students in a wide variety of vocal
qualities, including classical legit, pop/rock, soul, belt, speech quality, as well as sob and cry
qualities.
Julie also coaches students aged 16 and above towards achieving a Diploma in Performance
with the London College of Music. In recent years, she has successfully guided aspiring
teachers through their Singing Teaching Qualification, continuing her commitment to
nurturing the next generation of performers and educators.
