Stephen Mear CBE (HonDArt)
We are truly honoured and blessed to introduce our incredible Patron! The tenth and final member of our Guest Faculty is none other than the internationally-renowned legend that is Stephen Mear!
One of the world's leading Choreographers/Directors, we couldn't be more excited to have him on the team. Stephen says, 'I am thrilled and very excited to be Patron of Nadine's Dance College. NDC College is providing an invaluable learning experience where the teachers are of such a high standard and are exceptional in all fields that the course offers. I can't wait to be a part of this process and to be able to watch the College and the students grow and thrive.’
In a career spanning West End, Touring Shows, Broadway, television and performing arts work across the globe, Stephen Mear is one of the world's most prominent Choreographer/Directors. He is a three-time Olivier Award winner, and also nominee on countless occasions, for Best Choreography. He has twice received the Carl Alan Award for significant contribution to the dance and theatre industry, as well as the Companion Award from Sir Paul McCartney's LIPA in recognition of his outstanding professional career. Other accolades include LA Drama Critics Circle Award and the Helpmann Award. He was National Theatre 2001 winner of the What’sOnStage Awards for Best Choreography, and he received a nomination for a Tony and a Drama Desk Award. In 2020, Stephen received the Commander of the Order of the British Empire award for his Contribution to Dance, such has his outstanding career and support for the arts has had a positive impact inspiring many. In 2019 he was made an Honorary Doctor of Arts (HonDArt) by the University of Greenwich.
